chicken stock (made with USDA chicken)

A broth created by water soluble juices simmered from slowly cooked chicken.  Chicken stock is rich in protein and electrolytes (minerals such as sodium and potassium).

chicken (USDA)

Chicken is an excellent source of high quality protein, vitamin B3 (niacin) and fatty acids.  It is also a good source of selenium, vitamin B6 and phosphorous.

carrots (USDA Grade A)

Carrots are the best source of Vitamin A, an antioxidant that protects cells from free radicals which can damage the basic structure of healthy cells.  The beta-carotene that gives carrots a vibrant color boosts the immune system and helps maintain healthy vision.  Vitamin K in carrots works to build strong bones.

whole grain brown rice (USDA Grade #1)

Whole grain brown rice is a better source of fiber than refined grains.  It is also richer in antioxidants, protein, dietary minerals (including magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, and selenium) and vitamins (including niacin, vitamin B6, and vitamin E).

Souplements Replenish Chicken with Rice is a low-grain food.  Whole grain brown rice makes up only 3% of our recipe for this soup.
